The retaining clip broke off after a couple days. I contacted the seller, Mutt Mart, via Amazon.com email and did not receive any response from them at all. The device itself is effective, however, it is made of some older design electronic parts, and is not very small or modern, so I am concerned with how long it will last. Rating - much quieter dog Our dog is a barker. Once he got used to it, he actually doesn't bark at the garbage truck! It is amazing how much better he is even without it. Mind you, when he doesn't have it on, he still does get to barking a bunch, but it seems that his barks are less frequent and does not continue for the whole 5 minutes that a person may be in view of the front of our house. I thought it was cruel to shock my anxious, leash aggressive, 75 lb excessive barker, but after I tried everything thing else, I gave in. He got shocked a couple of times and has now stopped. In fact, he's almost relaxed now in situations that used to set him off.
